Woman Charged With Shoplifting

A young woman's scheme to steal clothes from a Greenwich Avenue shop backfired Tuesday when an employee found tags from the stolen items in a dressing room, police reported.

Lil Hack Lorentzen, 23, of 89 Butternut Hollow Road had been trying on clothing in the dressing room at Reflections and decided to buy one item. She was carrying a shopping bag that was already full and appeared nervous at checkout. When a clerk removed the unpurchased items from the dressing room she noticed tags in the pockets and realized they had been taken off clothing that was missing. Police were able to contact Lorentzen from her name on the store receipt. She admitted to officers that she had the stolen items and was placed under arrest for larceny. The four stolen items were valued at $425. Lorentzen was released on a $250 cash bond and is due to appear in court on Sept. 15.
