N.Y. Man Held in I.D. Theft

When police in Rockville Center, L.I., stopped Benjamin Polo, 23, of Queens, N.Y., last week on motor vehicle charges, they found that he was wanted on a warrant from Greenwich on charges of credit card theft, identity theft and larceny.

Polo was moved from Nassau County to Greenwich, where he is being held on a $10,000 bond. He is due in court Aug. 6.

Also from the police blotter: 

Nicholas C. Merz, 18, of 53 Rodwell Ave., Greenwich, was arrested Tuesday on possession of marijuana charges. When  Merz's car was stopped on Lake Avenue, the police officer smelled marijuana in the car. Officers then found less than four ounces of marijuana in the glove compartment.  Merz was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 4.

David Taylor, 50, of Pacific St. in Stamford, has been arrested on charges of failure to appear in court. Taylor was presented to the court on "same day arraignment" status  and remains in the custody of the Connecticut State Marshal. He appeared in court Tuesday and is being held on a $500 bond.
