Mary S. Lapegna, a lifelong Greenwich resident, died at Greenwich Hospital on April 9. She was 96.
Lapegna was born April 4, 191,5 to Nicholas and Mary Locato Sole. She was a seamstress in her early years and was passionate about sewing, gardening, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her daughters, Maryann DeLuca and husband Frank, Carol Lapegna, Linda Lapegna and husband Bruce Nishball; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred A. Lapegna; two brothers, Julius Sole and Joseph Sole; and three sisters, Rose Vadala, Frances Poole and Ann Rogers.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
