Jacquetta Johnson, Former Greenwich Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. — Jacquetta Beier Johnson, a longtime Greenwich resident, died July 2 with her daughters at her side. She was 93.

She was born in 1917 in Duluth, Minn., to Wilhemina Michaud and Carl Frederick Beier. She worked in Washington, D.C., in 1940 supporting the war effort during World War II. It was there that she met her husband, Norton, who was serving in the Navy at the time.

Johnson was an avid traveler, musician, sports fan and former resident of Greenwich for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and Sacred Heart Church. She was most recently a resident of Sea View Retreat in Rowley, Mass.

Johnson is survived by daughters Erica Johnson, Jill Johnson and Sally Swatland; and two granddaughters and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Norton Steele Johnson, and her sister, Barbara Brandenhoff.

Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, Mass., with burial to follow at Oak Hill in Newburyport. Arrangements have been made by the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home of Rowley. To send condolences please visit www.fsrobertsandson.com.
