Greenwich Sets Hearing on High School Trees

A public hearing will be held Tuesday to discuss the fate of 121 trees on the grounds of Greenwich High School. The trees are slated for removal to make way for the school’s music space and auditorium project. Tree Warden Bruce Spaman will hear comments Tuesday at noon at Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room.

The hearing was set after residents objected to the clearing of the trees. The Representative Town Meeting approved funding for the school expansion project last week, and the Board of Education voted Thursday to begin construction on July 1.
