Greenwich: Move Your Cars to Make Way for Plows

Do you park your car on the street at night? If it's parked on one designated for snow removal, you could be ticketed and towed. The Greenwich Police Department is urging residents to keep their vehicles off those streets through Friday night, when it expects to lift the snow emergency.

By late Thursday, seven cars had been towed for violating the snow-removal parking ban. Drivers could get a $55 ticket for a parking violation or a $103 ticket for violating the ordinance.

"We are looking for voluntary compliance," Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the Greenwich police department, was quoted as saying in Greenwich Time. "But when people are pulling out, others are pulling back in immediately. Overall, things are working well, but it is not a perfect situation."
