Greenwich Chamber Opens Search for New Leader

After Greenwich Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Mary Ann Morrison resigned last week, it formed a committee to hunt for her replacement, board of directors chairman Jeff Weber said.

The committee's role will be to solicit resumes and make recommendations to the full board. The chamber board has also decided to limit its search to the Greenwich area, citing the “great number of talented and experienced individuals that are available.” Weber, executive vice president of Blue Star Media Group, which owns WGCH-AM radio, will chair the committee.

“We feel that being a part of and being very familiar with this outstanding and unique community of ours are two important attributes of the person that will be our next executive,” said Weber. “In addition, familiarity with Greenwich will allow them to hit the ground running more easily than someone from outside the area.”

Weber has appointed seven people to this committee including: Paul Mercado, vice president of the commercial division of Rand Insurance; Steven Lerangis, senior vice president of private banking for Northern Trust Bank; Alyssa Keleshia Bonomo, vice president of K Investments Inc.; James Ritman, managing director of Newmark Knight Frank; Sonia Sotire Malloy, owner of Splure Unique Gifts; and David Rabin, vice president of Patriot National Bank.

“I feel this is a very diverse group of individuals who will bring a wealth of business experience and expertise to the committee,” said Weber. “They have an extensive background in the recruitment and hiring of personnel, which will be a great asset to the process.”
