Greenwich Academy Robotics Team Honored

Greenwich Academy’s robotics team won a teamwork trophy at an international Lego competition in St. Louis.

The girls of RoboElite and their coaches, Gail Sestito and Doug Rendell, faced off against teams from around the country and the world at the First Lego League Competition, held at America’s Convention Center and Edwards Dome. More than 20,000 students participated.

The girls worked for two days in late April to refine their bots and prepare their presentations. They impressed the judges with their teamwork and attention to task and went home with a second place trophy for teamwork. Team members were Sophie Hadjipateras, Charlotte Warne, Alexa Murray, Margot Shango, Claire Holtz, Rachael Ragen, Erika Kraus, Maxx Grossman and Jadesola Ariyibi.
