Food for Thought at Greenwich Town Hall

Alison Brush, an employee of the department of social services, knows how to motivate her staff. The Greenwich Department of Social Services Food Pantries held its fifth annual employee food drive Thursday at Town Hall.

"Over the past few years, the food drive has been very successful," said Brush. "The town employees are very generous." The Greenwich Service Unit of the Salvation Army sponsors the event. Once the food is collected, it benefits the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, which is Greenwich's food pantry and also helps other Greenwich residents in need.

With the help of long-time Salvation Army volunteers, Brush said that five large tables will be filled with items such as cereal, peanut butter, canned soup and packed juice by the end of the afternoon.
