Flash Flood Watch Issued For Coastal Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for coastal Fairfield County from late Monday night through Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service announced.

Heavy rain, which could begin overnight, could cause urban flooding along streets and low-lying areas, the weather service said. 

The showers and thunderstorms moving into the area could bring rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, with some areas getting as much as 3 inches. 

Hourly rain rates could be up to 2 inches per hour, the weather service said. 

Low temperatures overnight will be around 66. The chance of rain is 70 percent.

On Tuesday, high temperatures will approach 77 degrees with a 100 percent chance of rain. 

Showers are likely with a possible thunderstorm before midnight Tuesday night, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 3 a.m.
