CVS in Greenwich Robbed at Knifepoint

A man carrying a knife confronted a pharmacist and demanded prescription narcotics at the CVS Pharmacy at 1239 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich late Tuesday.

Police are seeking the suspect, who brandished a knife in the "employee only" area of the pharmacy at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. A pharmacist gave the suspect the drugs and the man fled. He was seen getting into a dark-colored minivan and speeding away. The CVS is open 24 hours a day.

The suspect was described as a white male with light-colored hair and blue eyes, average height and stocky build. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue hoodie sweatshirt. The lower part of his face was concealed with a dark mask or scarf.

Police were continuing the investigation. They declined to give details on the robbery such as the type of drug taken or its value.
