A Cos Cob man suspected of confronting a pharmacist with a knife and demanding prescription narcotics late Tuesday at a CVS Pharmacy in Greenwich was arrested Thursday morning.
Police on Wednesday morning identified Patrick Marr, 23, of 10 River Lane, as the sole suspect and interviewed him at his home. During the investigation, police secured Marr's house to safeguard possible evidence while a search-and-seizure warrant was filed. At this point, police said Marr became "belligerent and noncompliant" with officers. He was arrested on a charge of interfering with an investigation, taken to police headquarters and held overnight on $150,000 bond.
Police obtained the search-and-seizure warrant and recovered evidence that linked Marr with the crime. Lt. Kraig Gray, a police spokesman, said oxycodone worth thousands of dollars on the streets was stolen in the pharmacy robbery.
Marr was charged with first-degree robbery Thursday morning and appeared in court later in the day. He was being held at Bridgeport Correctional Facility on $650,000 bond.
Marr is accused of brandishing a knife in the "employee only" area of the pharmacy at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. A pharmacist gave him the drugs and he fled in a dark-colored minivan, police said. The CVS at 1239 E. Putnam Ave. is open 24 hours a day.
