Ann Bryson, 100, Police Sergeant's Widow

Ann Bryson, an immigrant from Newfoundland and a Greenwich resident, died Tuesday at the age of 100.

Bryson was the youngest of five children and came to the United States when she was 15. She worked in the restaurant industry in Greenwich and White Plains, N.Y., before marrying her husband, Greenwich Police Sgt. John Herbert Bryson.

She is survived by her daughter Joan Bryson; and many nephews, nieces, 13 grandnieces and grandnephews, 22 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and three great-great-grandnieces and great-great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ann Mary Bryson’s name to Pet Rescue of Larchmont, N.Y., and GEMS of Greenwich.
