A 45-year-old Hispanic man was fatally struck by a train early on Wednesday morning near the Metro-North Train Station, leading to delays for commuters traveling on the New Haven Line.
Shortly before 5:30 a.m., an unauthorized person on the tracks was fatally struck by the 5:13 a.m. train from Stamford due to land in Grand Central Terminal at 6:20, a Metro-North spokesperson confirmed. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending the notification of family.
The spokesperson said that as of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the New Haven Line between Rye and Greenwich was still experiencing delays of up to a half hour.
