Hawaii Comes to Cos Cob Library

"We're not in Cos Cob anymore, we're in Hawaii!" said Teri "Tiare Kahana" Bourget. She was the Kahana Hula performer at the Cos Cob Library on Wednesday as part of this summer's "Make a splash–read!" educational events for children.Bourget performed for a captive audience of nearly 40 children, combining history and cultural lessons about Hawaii with fun activities like making music with seashells, singing songs and dancing the hula.

"She's our main midsummer performer," said Alina Colossale, the children's librarian. "We've had huge turnouts. People are still in town and utilizing the library this summer."
