Youth Production Of Dr. Seuss Musical In Rye

RYE, N.Y. -- Straight from the colorful imagination of Dr. Seuss come a cast of characters that will come to life on stage Friday and Saturday at Rye Country Day School.

The Port Chester Council for the Arts presents "Seussical, Jr.," which tells the story of Horton the Elephant and the community of little beings called "Whos" he finds inhabiting a speck of dust in the jungle.

Other familiar characters include the Cat in the Hat, Jojo, Mayzie and Gertrude McFuzz in this youth theater production directed by Port Chester teacher Julie Colangelo, with musical direction by Cindy Moore. The cast includes students from Port Chester, Rye, Rye Brook, Harrison, Larchmont and Greenwich.Show times are at 8 p.m. at the Dunn Performing Arts Center at Rye Country Day School on Cedar St. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students, cash or check only, at the door.
