Create@GreenwichLibrary is a series designed to foster creative and collaborative learning for all ages.
All programs meet monthly. The following upcoming programs are being offered:
- How-To Tuesday, which explores a different topic each month in a STEAM-based, hands-on format. On Tuesday, April 19, from 4-5 p.m., there will be How-To Tuesday Design and Build a Doodlebot. The Doodlebot is a simple motorized robot that will spin and move around the table. After the robot has been built, students will test all the different Doodlebot designs and create abstract art. The program is open to students in grades 6-8. Contact Siobhan Schugmann at 203-625-6536 for more information.
- Middle School Book Club, Thursday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m. The club is for literature fans in grades 6-8. This month’s book is "Golden Boy" by Tara Sullivan. In this Nutmeg Award nominee, a Tanzanian albino boy named Habo finds himself the ultimate outsider, hunted because of the color of his skin. Pick up a copy of the book at the second-floor reference desk.
- Coding for Middle School Girls, Saturday, April 23 from 1-3 p.m. This program, inspired by the Girls Who Code movement, encourages young women in grades 6-8 to learn more about coding and to work together on projects while having fun. No fee is required. Students must bring their own laptops.
