Get The Dirt On Soil, The Food Supply In Greenwich Library Talk

The featured speaker will be Dave White, former chief U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resource Conservation Service. He is also co-founder and partner of conservation consultants the 9b Group. Support for this forum is provided through a cooperative agreement of the National Association of Conservation Districts and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The United Nations named 2015 “The International Year of the Soil” in the hope of generating awareness of the importance of soil to human life. According to the 9b Group, in just a few decades, farmers will have to feed 9 billion people a year. Keeping agricultural land productive will be critical to meeting food demands as will protecting the health and resilience of the environment.
