Fairfield Will See Soaking Rain Overnight

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Clouds and rain will make for a soggy start to the Columbus Day holiday weekend in Fairfield County, according to the National Weather Service.

Clouds will increase during the afternoon on Friday, with a chance of showers after 5 p.m. 

Steadier rain will move into the area after 9 p.m. Friday, with up to a half-inch expected. Chance of rain overnight is 90 percent. 

Showers will linger on Saturday morning before gradually clearing with a high of 61 degrees. 

Sunday will be sunny with a high in the low 60s.
