City Worker Dragged 40 Feet By Car Of Irate Driver In Fairfield County, Police Say
A Fairfield County city employee is recovering after being dragged by a car of an irate driver for more than 40 feet down a roadway while performing construction work. The incident took place in Danbury around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 on King Street. Officers from the Danbury Police Department responded to King Street for a report of a pedestrian hit by a car. Here's When New Bridge Replacement Project Will Start On I-95 In Fairfield County
The replacement of a bridge over I-95 will necessitate a long-term detour and cost nearly $1,500,000, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. The overpass bridge in Westport on Beachside Avenue will be closed to traffic from approximately Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 until September, 2021, according to project manager Louis Eveno. The multi steel girder bridge slated for replacement was built in 1958, and has reportedly deteriorated over time. Injuries Reported In Crash That Causes Merritt Closure In Fairfield
Injuries have been reported in a rollover crash that led to a car fire and the closure in both directions of the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield late Saturday afternoon. The southbound crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Exit 46 in front of the Fairfield rest area, state police said. Traffic was detoured through the rest area during the time the parkway was closed.
