The woman caring for the baby was inside the gas station/convenience store at the time, dealing with a credit card issue, Hamden Police said. One Killed, Another Injured In Separate CT Crashes Involving Men On Scooters Two separate crashes involving men on scooters in Connecticut left one dead and one injured and police in the fatal crash searching for the driver who fled the scene.  Both crashes occurred on Wednesday, July 1. The fatal crash in Hamden in New Haven County, and the second crash with injuries occurred in Fairfield County, in Bridgeport.
