One Killed, Two Injured In Fairfield County Crash A Fairfield County man was killed and two others injured during an early morning crash. The crash took place around 1:40 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25 on Danbury Road near the intersection of Route 35 in Ridgefield. According to Captain Shawn Platt of the Ridgefield Police Department, said Nicholas Vega, age 25, of Danbury, was killed during the crash. Man, 60, Killed When Motorcycle Crashes Into Road Sign In Fairfield County A 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Northern Fairfield County. The crash happened just after 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1 on a stretch of Route 35 in Ridgefield, police said. The victim, identified as John Lienhardt, 60, of Cos Cob, was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle went off the roadway, striking a road sign, Ridgefield Police said. He was then treated at the scene and transported to the Danbury Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.

Expect Delays: Route 35 Road Work Resumes In Ridgefield Motorists planning on traveling on Danbury Road (Route 35) through Ridgefield can expect delays this week as contracting crews complete work in the area. The Connecticut State Department of Transportation informed town officials over the weekend that there will be alternate one-way traffic on Route 35 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at the Fox Hills Condo entrance. There will also be delays and alternate one-way traffic from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday for construction.
