Two CT Officers Killed In Shooting Posthumously Promoted Two Connecticut police officers killed in an ambush-style shooting have been posthumously promoted. The two, Sgt. Dustin DeMonte and Officer Alex Hamzy were killed in Hartford County on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in Bristol. Dog Shot, At Large After 'Vicious' Attack In CT, Police Say Police officers in Connecticut had to shoot a dog that remains at large after it was involved in what was described as a “vicious” attack, according to authorities. In Hartford County, police responded to a “vicious dog complaint” in Bristol on Friday, May 27, on French Street. According to Bristol Police Lt. Robert Osborne, upon arrival, officers found a pit bull actively attacking its victim, and it had to be shot at the scene to halt the attack.
