Update: ID Released For Danbury 40-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Car This story has been updated. The identity has been released of a man who was struck and killed by a passing car in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Danbury around 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 20 in the area of Lake Avenue Extension and Mill Ridge Road. According to Erin Henry, spokeswoman for the Danbury Police, officers found 40-year-old Garrett Rich of Danbury, lying in the westbound lane of Lake Avenue Extension in front of the Ethan Allen Hotel with significant injuries. Danbury Water Main Break Closes Wcsu Campuses Western Connecticut State University in Fairfield County has closed for the day because of a water main break. The break took place in Danbury on the Westside early Friday, Jan. 19.  According to college officials, both WestConn campuses -- Midtown on White Street and Westside off Lake Avenue Extension -- are closed.  Level 1 staff (essential workers) are required to report at their normal work times. Covid-19: CVS Adds 13 New Drive-Thru Test Sites In CT, Bringing Total To 25 Amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, CVS Health expanded its COVID-19 testing program by announcing 13 additional test sites at select CVS Pharmacy drive-thru locations across Connecticut.  The opening of additional test sites on Friday, May 22 adds to the 12 locations previously opened on Friday, May 15 in Connecticut. These new sites will utilize self-swab tests and mark the next phase of the company’s nationwide COVID-19 testing strategy, announced in late April.
