3 Young CT Runners Struck By Car, Injured
Three minors were struck and injured by a car while jogging along a Connecticut roadway. The incident occurred in Hartford County around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, in Glastonbury. According to Lt. Kevin Szydlo of the Glastonbury Police, the three were running near Hubbard and Maple Streets when they were struck by a car. A Connecticut woman was killed and four others seriously injured during a four-car crash on I-84. The crash took place in Hartford County around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 in Farmington, said the Connecticut State Police. Three Injured After Fire Breaks Out At Fairfield County Home
Three people were injured during a fire at a Fairfield County home. The fire started around 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, at a home located at 646 Hallett St., in Bridgeport. According to Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, those injured were found on the ground in the front of the home and their injuries were consistent with a fall. Two Injured When Bus Sideswipes Vehicle In Bridgeport
Two people were injured when a Bridgeport Transit bus sideswiped a parked vehicle. The incident took place around 10:25 a.m., Monday, Nov. 18, when the 58-year-old driver of the bus hit a GMC Canyon on Fairfield Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. The driver of the parked car was an 86-year-old man, Jones said. The bus was occupied by three passengers, one of which was taken to the hospital for treatment. Do you know this van? The East Haven Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a white Chevy Express van that struck a girl who was skateboarding and sped away. The hit-and-run was caught on camera shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, near the intersection of Tyler Street and Taylor Avenue. Four Firefighters Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Fairfield County Home
Four Stratford firefighters were injured fighting a Canaan Road house fire early Tuesday, according to the Stratford Fire Department. Shortly after midnight, the department responded to 361 Canaan Road to find the rear of a three-story, multi-family dwelling engulfed in fire, said Deputy Chief, Fire Marshall Brain Lampart. A community has come together to help an eighth-grade boy who remains hospitalized after a piece of metal roof hit him during last week's severe line of storms. Lloyd Thyne, an honor student at Rogers Park Middle School in Danbury, was attending freshman orientation at Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury on Tuesday when a gust of wind blew a piece of metal roofing that struck him. Two Killed In Fairfield County During Storm
Two Fairfield County residents were killed and several injured as a high-powered storm system ripped through the area downing trees and power lines. A 41-year-old New Fairfield woman was killed around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Brush Hill Road when a tree fell on her vehicle, pinning her inside, said Connecticut State Trooper Sgt. Eric Haglund. Haglund said the woman's 3-year-old daughter was also in the vehicle but was not injured.
