New Update: Missing Stamford Man ID'd As Body Found In Westport Pond Police in Westport have released the identity of a body found floating in a retention pond. According to Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods, the body found early Monday, April 3, has been identified as that of Errol Whyte, age 62, of Stamford. Whyte has been missing since Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, and was the subject of a missing person investigation by the Stamford Police Department, he said. Alert Issued For Missing Stamford Man After SUV Found Unoccupied On I-95 Police issued an alert about a missing Stamford man who hasn't been seen in days. Errol Whyte, age 63, was last seen leaving Bridgeport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, the Stamford Police Department reported. On Friday, Dec. 30, Whyte's 2002 Ford Explorer was found unoccupied on I-95 southbound between Exits 18 and 17 near the Saugatuck Bridge, police said. His keys, cellphones, and wallet were found in the vehicle, but his wallet didn't contain his driver's license and cash, authorities reported. CT Driver Dies After Crashing Into Semi In 1-95 Rest Area A 63-year-old man died after crashing a car into a semi-truck at a rest area in Connecticut. The crash happened in New Haven County in the Milford Rest Area on I-95 southbound near Exit 41 at about 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Connecticut State Police reported. Police said a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5 S struck the rear of a 2016 Freightliner Tractor that was stopped in the fire lane of the rest area. Authorities said it is not known why the Nissan struck the Freightliner.  The driver of the Nissan, identified as Brian Lambert, of West Haven, was killed in the crash, authorities said.&n…

Man Nabbed In Fairfield After I-95 Police Chase, Crash A 24-year-old man who failed to stop for a routine traffic stop was nabbed by police following a chase and a crash in Fairfield County. Hasan T. Fleming of Bridgeport was arrested Tuesday after he failed to stop for a Fairfield Police officer conducting a routine traffic stop in the area of Commerce Drive and Coolidge Street, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras. Fleming engaged officers in pursuit onto I-95 southbound and struck a citizen’s vehicle during the pursuit.
