Jamar “JT” Smith, 37, of Bridgeport, and John Flannery III, 29, of East Hartford have been charged in federal court to various offenses related to the illegal purchase of firearms. Stratford Man Sentenced For Purchasing Firearms For Felon A Fairfield County man will spend time behind bars after being sentenced for purchasing firearms for a convicted felon in Connecticut. Tymon Peterson, 29, of Stratford, has been sentenced to two months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for his role in an illegal gun purchase at a Newington gun store. The first four months will be served in home confinement, and Peterson was ordered to serve the first four months of his release in home confinement and must pay a $1,800 fine.
