A 44-year-old Connecticut man has been charged in the hit-and-run death of Trooper Aaron Pelletier, who was killed while making a traffic stop.

Convicted CT Murderer Assaults Doctor, Correction Officer: Police
A Connecticut inmate currently serving life for murder was charged again after he allegedly assaulted correctional officers, including a doctor.
It happened on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Hartford County’s Walker Correctional Institution, located in Suffield.
At approximately 11: 12 a.m., inmate Joe Baltas, age 35, from Meriden in New Haven County, struck a Department of Corrections doctor in the chest and pinned him against the wall, Connecticut State Police reported.
Other staff members rushed to restrain Baltas and he was taken to the restrictive housing unit.

Teenage New Hampshire Kidnapping Suspect Nabbed In Connecticut
A teen has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping two juveniles girls from their home.
Cameron Snody, age 19, of Forth Worth, Texas, was arrested on Friday, March 19, by Connecticut State Police in Hartford, after troopers received an Amber Alert out of Swanzey, New Hampshire.
According to police, it was reported that Snody traveled to Swanzey, in Chesire County, in order to meet the two juveniles ages 12 and 17.
Snody then stole a vehicle described as a 2006 Saturn Ion, and fled with the girls, state police said.

A Connecticut man wanted for parole jumping was found with an assault rifle and semi-automatic pistol when nabbed in an area hotel.
Tijun Mims, age 26, of Hamden, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 18, for an incident that took place at the Red Roof Inn in Milford on Thursday, Feb. 4, said the Milford Police.
While being arrested on Feb. 4 for the Department of Corrections for being a parole jumper, Mims was found to be in possession of an assault rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, and four high-capacity magazines, police said.

A Stratford man has been charged in the shooting death of a local man on July 4.
Charles Anthony Bonilla, 20, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 14, arrested and charged with the shooting death of Richard McDonald that occurred in Green Homes, in Bridgeport, on July 4, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.
Bonilla is alleged to have shot McDonald in the head near the rear of building 4 in Green Homes and fled the scene, Jones said.

A Bridgeport man was arrested in connection with a home invasion in April in which he allegedly held a victim at gunpoint and forced the man to turn over a large amount of cash and other goods.
Watertown detectives arrested Youssef Mohammed, 22, on the charges of reckless endangerment, kidnapping with a firearm, home invasion, burglary, larceny, and robbery, said the Watertown Police Department.

A response to a fight that broke out in Stamford led to the discovery of checks likely stolen from mailboxes and corporate buildings, Stamford Police said.
Patrol units were sent to Summer Street at Sixth Street on a report of two people fighting on Thursday, Dec. 27.

A man already behind bars for allegedly strangling and abusing his girlfriend has been charged with the ongoing brutal assault of a baby, according to Stamford Police.
Jeisson Stiven Garcia, 23, of Stamford, was arrested Thursday following a 10-month investigation into the ongoing abuse of a 2-and-half-month-old baby girl, said Lt. Tom Scanlon.
The abuse was uncovered on Feb. 6, when a 911 call was made to Stamford Police because the baby was not breathing, Scanlon said.

Police: Ansonia Man Charged In Two Shelton Burglaries
SHELTON, Conn. — Shelton police on Wednesday arrested an Ansonia man in connection with two burglaries in the fall of 2017.
Andre Genest, 28, was arrested in Derby Superior Court, where he was appearing on an unrelated matter, police said.
The Shelton burglaries occurred in August and September. Shelton officers quickly developed Genest as a suspect and were able to link him to the burglaries, police said.
Genest, who is in the custody of the Department of Corrections, was charged with burglary and larceny charges and placed on a total of $15,000.00 bond, police said.
