Fairfield Police Department Welcomes New K9 Officer The Fairfield Police Department has welcomed a new furry friend to its K9 team. K9 Sammy, who is certified with the National Police Canine Association, was welcomed to the department on Monday, Sept. 16. She is also certified with the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association as an Explosive Detection Police Service Dog and a certified Military Working Dog with the Department of Defense. K9 Sammy has been partnered with Officer Franck DeAngelis, who has been a member of the department since August 2001.
