Beardsley Zoo Announces Death Of Beloved Golden Lion Tamarin A popular Connecticut zoo has announced the tragic death of a much-loved golden lion tamarin who died after an unviable birth.  On Thursday, March 7, The Beardsley Zoo, located in the Fairfield County city of Bridgeport, announced the death of Cricket, a 6-year-old golden lion tamarin.  According to the zoo, Cricket died immediately after an unviable birth. Per the zoo's standard practices and procedures, a post-mortem examination was then conducted at the site and samples were sent for further testing, a spokesperson said. New Haven County resident Justin Spray, of Milford, died at the age of 35 on Wednesday, May 25, after he was shot “by a mentally ill person with a gun at his home,” his obituary said. Police had been called to his home on Edgefield Avenue just before 1 p.m. with reports of a fight and possible gunfire, according to Milford Police.
