The pooch was rescued by someone at the Ludlow Train Station on Sunday, Feb. 12. Anyone who knows who it belongs to is asked to call “Christie” at (914) 853-5353.

Penguins To Take The Plunge For Special Olympics In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. – Brave souls will be “freezin’ for a reason” next month as they splash into the frigid waters off Westport next month. The annual “Penguin Plunge” is set for Saturday, March 25 at Compo Beach. Similar “plunges” will take place at five other beaches and lakes around the state. It will raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut, which provides year-round training for 13,000 athletes who take part in 27 different sports. Penguins can compete as teams or individuals. Joe Taxiera, Graphic Artist, Fire Dispatcher, Of Ossining, 69 OSSINING, N.Y. -- Joseph (John) Taxiera of Ossining, a graphic artist and a dispatcher for the Ossining Fire Department, died Friday, Feb. 10. He was 69. The son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Gramby) Taxiera, he was born in Tarrytown on April 23, 1947. Taxiera graduated from Ossining High School in 1965 and was also a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. He was a communicant of St. Augustine R.C. Church. From 1966 to 2013, Taxiera was a member of the Ossining Fire Department, Ossining Hose Company No. 1, serving both as captain and a commissioner. He was a graphic artist w…
