Fairfield Prep Brings Holiday Cheer to Families

Fairfield's public schools aren't the only ones giving to local families in need during the holiday season. Fairfield Prep just wrapped up its holiday toy drive. Hundreds of toys and diapers filled the school's Arrupe Hall. A group of Prep's Theology students, including Serge Jean-Baptiste, Malik Simpson, Trey Altieri, Colin Cooper and Delvone Davis, collected the unwrapped new toys and loaded them into vans Thursday to take them to the Diocese of Bridgeport's main offices.

The Diocese's Office of Social Concern spurred the collection drive, asking for donations from its schools and parishes. Those parishes will identify families in their communities that need help this holiday season and refer them to the diocese to collect gifts and essentials. For information on how to refer a needy family, contact the Office of Social Concern at 203-416-1461.
