Newly Elected Fairfield Officials Sworn In To Office

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - With friends and supporters cheering them on, the newly elected and re-elected officials were sworn in Monday night in a small ceremony at Fairfield Warde High School.

The 129 officials were sworn in to office by Town Clerk Betsy Browne by office, including the members of the Board of Finance and Board of Education as well as the constables and all 50 members of the Fairfield Representative Town Meeting.  

"Congratulations to all the newly elected officials, and i look forward to working with you in the next term," Browne said.

Afterward, Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau welcomed them to public service.

"That now makes it official for all the candidates. You guys can get to work in about 15 minutes," Tetreau said to laughter from those assembled in the auditorium. 

"This truly is one team for one town," he said. "We're all working together here, for the benefit of all our citizens."
