Members of the Greenwich Police Department were dispatched to the area of Delavan Avenue and Byram Shore Road at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, where there was a reported crash in the area.
Upon arrival, officers said they spotted two vehicles parked in the left hand turning lane for the I-95 northbound exit under the bridge of the interstate.
Police said that when speaking with one of the drivers, Stamford resident Karla Mejia, 28, she had "the distinct smell of" alcohol on her breath and she proceeded to fail several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Mejia was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was released later that day on $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 22 to answer the charge.
