Police had been called to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. on reports of a man passed out in a car in the parking lot at Sky Hookah Lounge and were attending to that case when the woman was struck.
The driver involved said he was driving slowly because he saw emergency vehicles at the scene, but the woman “ran out in front of him,” and he couldn’t avoid hitting her, police said.
The woman, Johana Acosta-Quintanilla, 23, of Stratford, received a cut to her big toe and abrasions on her right shoulder and knee, police said. She was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for treatment.
The driver stopped at the scene and was not charged.
The man in the car, who complained of abdominal pain, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital.
