Man Arrested In Fairfield After Threatening To Kill Girlfriend, Cat, Police Say

A 52-year-old man apprehended in Fairfield is facing charges after making threats to kill his girlfriend and her cat, police say.

Stratford Police received reports of a domestic dispute at the Stratford residence of Christopher Fulton. Fulton was allegedly in a verbal argument with his girlfriend, during which he made threats to kill her and her cat. The victim was able to lock herself in a room and call for help.

Authorities arrived to discover that Fulton had fled the scene. He was later arrested in Fairfield with the help of the Fairfield Police Department. Police also discovered and seized a firearm and ammunition from his residence.

Fulton was taken into custody without further incident and charged with the following:

  • First-degree threatening
  • Illegal sale/distribution of a firearm
  • Disorderly conduct

Fulton was released after posting $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
