There is no specific daily schedule. Bags must be curbside on Mondays by 6 a.m. to assure pickup during that week.
Leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags. Do not seal the bags. Branches, wood and other yard debris will not be picked up. Nor will leaves in plastic bags. Bags placed outside the Town right-of-way will not be picked up, according to a release.
Residents are reminded not to rake leaves into the street or gutters to avoid blocking the catch basins.
Greenfield Hill residents should call the Town Garage at 203-256-3177 by Friday, Nov. 22, to arrange for leaf pickup before Thanksgiving. They may also call the week after Thanksgiving for an additional pickup.
Leaves will also be accepted at the Harvest New England (Green Cycle) facility on Richard White Way, One Rod Highway, through Dec. 15.
The facility will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Harvest New England accepts yard waste of less than 500 pounds free of charge for Fairfield residents with a valid town sticker. Vehicles without stickers will be charged as commercial customers.
