Studer was born in North Canton, Ohio, the son of Clair and Pauline Studer. He had been a Fairfield resident for over 40 years.
He received his bachelor's degree in theology from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, and later a doctor of ministry from the Theological Seminary in Lancaster, Pa., and master's degree in sacred theology from Gettysburg Theological Seminary.
He served at Incarnation UCC in Newport, Pa.; Faith UCC in Center Valley, Pa.; and the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport and also held various interim pastoral duties at various churches in the local area. Both he and his wife were currently members of First Church Congregational in Fairfield. He served on the Board of Directors and was past president at the Bridgeport Council of Churches and on the Board of the Connecticut Conference of the UCC.
Stuber is survived by his wife, the Rev. Arlene B. Studer; children, Elizabeth A. Studer of Westfield, Mass., and David P. Studer (Margaret) of Kent; three grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beverly Studer of Delaware, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Richard Studer.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at First Church Congregational, Fairfield with the Rev. David Spollett, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Remembrance Fund at First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 or to the charity of one's choice.
