Donna Santora, 62, of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Donna Santora of Fairfield died July 2, with her husband, Lawrence, by her side. She was 62. 

Born July 20, 1949, in Stamford, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lucille Saba. She was raised in the Chickahominy neighborhood of Greenwich and spent her teenage years in Riverside. 

Santora worked in human resources and in various office positions. She started her career as an assistant clerk at Probate Court in Greenwich in the late 1960s and was previously employed by Electrolux Corp. and Virgin Atlantic Airways. She also worked as a school bus driver in the late 1970s and early 1980s in Fairfield. She later served as a Connecticut auxiliary state trooper in Westport. 

She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, traveling to Paradise Island in the Bahamas and eating lobster in North Truro on Cape Cod with her family and friends. She is remembered by family for her distinct laugh. She also loved to play poker and slot machines at Mohegan Sun. 

Santora was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Lucille. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lawrence "Larry" M. Santora; two daughters, Amy, of Stratford, and Stacy (John) Farago, of North Haven; a sister, Kathleen McGouldrick, of Montana; and two grandsons, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law. 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, National Stroke Foundation, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association and Connecticut State Police Academy Alumni Association
