Vorgang was born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was the son of Charles and Anne Vorgang, he had been a Fairfield resident for the last 41 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked his entire career in sales for Graybar Electric in New York City. He was a member of the VFW in Fairfield and was a longtime parishioner at St. Pius X Church.
Vorgang is survived by his daughter, Regina A. Vorgang (Scott Miles); brother, Joseph Vorgang (Carol); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Evelyn M. Vorgang; and son, Charles R. Vorgang, Jr.
Calling hours are Tuesday, May 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
