Catherine A. Kolenda, 80, Of Fairfield, Worked For Devore’s Bakery

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Catherine A. Kolenda died Sunday, Nov. 2. She was 80.

Kolenda was born in Fairfield and was a lifelong area resident. She was a former employee of Devore's Bakery.

Kolenda is survived by her husband, Joseph; son, Joseph John Kolenda; daughter, Karen A. Kolenda (fiance, Patrick Gregory), all of Fairfield; two grandsons; and a nephew.

Calling Hours are Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. directly in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield, followed by interment in St. Thomas Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kolenda's memory to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale, 20 York St., New Haven, CT, 06510.
