Fairfield police say a 63-year-old town man was arrested Friday and charged with disobeying police instructions during the funeral procession for Bridgeport firefighter Michael Baik on Burroughs Road. Stephen Boudreau III was walking on the road, which was closed to traffic, at the intersection with Coral Drive, while the procession made its way to Lawncroft Burial Park on Black Rock Turnpike.
An officer directing traffic instructed Boudreau to step back as the procession passed, police said. But Boudreau did not and responded by yelling at the officer. After the procession went by, the officer instructed Boudreau to leave the area, but he would not. The officer grabbed Boudreau by the arm and he responded by pulling his arm away, resulting in his arrest. He was charged with interfering with an officer and resisting arrest, police said. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Aug. 12.
