Tuesday will be mostly sunny with clouds rolling into the area and bringing the threat of showers after 4 p.m. with a high of 84 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
But the clouds will be more persistent Wednesday, with temperatures expected to remain in the mid-80s. The threat of potentially heavy rain and thunderstorms will also linger in the area with a 30 percent chance of rain.
Storms and showers will become more likely Thursday with a 60 percent chance of rain and storms and a high temperature near 87.
Independence Day will be mostly cloudy with temperatures near 80. Chance of rain is 60 percent.
The rainy weather forecast is partially due to Tropical Storm Arthur, which has formed off the coast of Florida, NBC Connecticut reported.
Arthur should become a Category 1 hurricane as it approaches the Outer Banks of North Carolina, NBC Connecticut said. Heavy rain could fall on Thursday night into Friday, due to Arthur as the storm moves up the East Coast, NBC Connecticut said. It is not expected to hit land in Connecticut.
