So it was for Christina Connors who used her years of struggling to make it as a New York City singer/actress into a new album.

Now a Greenwich massage therapist who continues to perform on the side, Connors has just released "Dream Bigger: Songs of Hope, Healing, and Inspiration."

The album was recorded at Factory Underground in Norwalk and features the music of Composer David Friedman, himself a Norwalk resident.

Friedman's work is well-known; he's written songs for Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, Petula Clark, Alison Krauss, and Leslie Uggams, among others and presently has an Off-Broadway show running at the York Theater in Manhattan called "Desperate Measures."

Connors, who lives in Stamford, admits that working with Friedman was a dream come true; one she thought she'd never achieve. Years ago she performed Friedman's music in a one-woman cabaret show and always hoped she meet and collaborate with him.

After years struggling to make it in NYC as an actress and vocalist, she moved back to Connecticut -- she's from West Hartford -- and focused on growing her massage therapy practice.

Practicing mindfulness and "letting go" of certain expectations, in the end, helped make her dreams a reality. It was in Fairfield County, in fact, after years "chasing" him in NYC, that she met Friedman and started on this album, which meshes her two loves of healing and singing.

"I've merged both my singing career and my massage therapy career and created an album that I hope can not only entertain, but inspire and convey a sense of compassion and hope," said Connors.

"We're going through some challenging and uncertain times in our world. It's my hope that this album can serve as a beacon of light and comfort and inspire people to connect with their own inner voice to help them navigate rough waters with clarity and wisdom."

The album is available on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.
