Chowdafest started out in the cafeteria of Bedford Middle School in Westport and expanded to Webster Bank Arena last year after an explosion in popularity. This was the fourth year it was held on Super Bowl Sunday.

Attendees were invited to sample 31 different chowders, soups and bisque as well as craft beer and wine.

Donovan's in Norwalk was given the highest score in Chowdafest history with a 9.6 on its classic New England clam chowder, winning that category for the second year in a row.

Chef Pietro Scotti of Da Pietro’s in Westport and the sweet potato clam chowder from The Ginger Man in Norwalk were named the inaugural chef and chowder of the Chowdafest Hall of Fame.
