Her lecture will explain the classification of breast cancer: the histolopathological type, the grade of the tumor, the stage of the tumor, and the expression of proteins and genes. She then will review the standard approaches to treatment.
Waks, is a licensed naturopathic physician who practices at the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield. After practicing as a traditional medical doctor for more than 10 years, Waks became increasingly concerned with the negative side effects of pharmaceutical treatments. She then studied natural and alternative therapies and received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine.
Waks will return again for the final talk in this series, which will take place Dec. 5.
