The performances begin at 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday at the Quick Center at Fairfield University with a preperformance discussion at 12:15 p.m. The Met: Live in HD is a series of high-definition opera transmissions of The Metropolitan Opera’s new season direct from Lincoln Center’s Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.

"Patricia Racette portrays the tempestuous diva Floria Tosca in Luc Bondy’s production of Giacomo Puccini’s enduring favorite," a press release said. "Roberto Alagna sings Tosca’s lover, the painter Cavaradossi, and George Gagnidze is the corrupt, lustful Scarpia. Riccardo Frizza conducts Puccini’s sweeping, dramatic tale of murder, lust, and political intrigue."

Tickets for the show are $25, $20 for seniors and $10 for children/students. Call the Quick Center Box Office: at 203-254-4010 or toll-free at 1-877-ARTS-396, or 1-877-278-7396.
