The franchise is owned by local salesman and businessman Larry Coco and managed by his son, Michael. The owner decided to dedicate the new business to the memory of his daughter, who died in a car accident as a teenager.
“I believe the vision of what The Joint represents is a strong one – opening doors to health and wellness in a more affordable way,” Coco said in a press release. “It provides a needed service to the community, exactly what my Danielle would be doing today.”
The nationwide chain offers chiropractic treatments without previously scheduled appointments. It also sells membership programs, which give customers discounts for frequent visits.
The medical side of the clinic will be run by Dr. Stephen Rutkowski, D.C., a Fairfield University graduate. Rutkowski earned his degree from New York Chiropractic College, and he is a past assistant professor of clinical services at the University of Bridgeport’s College of Chiropractic and has sat on the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
“I want to be part of the revolutionary trend in health and wellness. I believe The Joint will be at the forefront of delivering a new model of chiropractic care,” Rutkowski said in a press release. "This will make it more affordable for patients, who up until now have found it to be inaccessible due to the rising cost of health care.”
The Joint has more than 380 clinics open or in development in 25 states. The Fairfield location is located in the Brick Walk Promenade, 1215 Post Road. For more information, visit the company’s website.
