Firefighter In Region Who Was HS Football Player Dies Suddenly At Age 27
A firefighter from Westchester County has died at the age of 27.
Servando Rodriguez, of Yonkers, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 8, according to his obituary.
Rodriguez worked as a firefighter for the City of Yonkers.
"It has been a pleasure meeting, knowing, and interacting with him during my years at Yonkers High School," former classmate Joel Pike wrote in a Facebook post. "Truly, he served his city with great distinction and gallant bravery. His service was greatly appreciated.

Man Dies After Road-Rage Assault In Fairfield County
A man has died following an assault during an alleged road-rage event involving a Westchester County man in Fairfield County.
The victim, Michael Frank Gentile, age 71, of Stamford, died late Thursday, Nov. 18, after the incident in Stamford.
It took place around 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17 on Cold Spring Road.

29-Year-Old Dies After Crash In Fairfield County
A 29-year-old from Westchester County is dead following a crash in Fairfield County.
It happened around 6:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, on Route 8 in Shelton, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to state police, Erzsebet Menczel, age 45, of Derby, was driving a Honda CR-V and crashed into John Mateo Oliver, of Yonkers, who was driving a BMW motorcycle.
Oliver was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash closed Route 8 for several hours during an investigation.
The collision remains under investigation.
