Ex-Teacher In New England Found Guilty Of Raping Fifth-Grader
A former Massachusetts elementary school music teacher has been found guilty of raping a fifth-grade student multiple times inside the classroom more than 10 years ago.
Hampshire County resident Stephen Jaszek, age 66, of South Hadley, was found guilty on Thursday, May 12, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr.
After a three day jury-waived trial, Worcester Superior Court Judge William Ritter found Jaszek, a former music teacher at Julia Bancroft Elementary School, located in Auburn, in Worcester County, guilty on all charges including:

Joint Investigation Leads To Arrest Of 'High-Impact' Trafficker Of Drugs, Firearms From CT
Police have arrested a 24-year-old man who investigators believe is a high-impact trafficker of drugs and firearms.
Luis Ortiz, from Worcester, Massachusetts and Putnam, Connecticut, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 17, at a home in Worcester following an investigation.
Police said Ortiz was charged with gun and narcotics offenses, including the illegal sale of firearms, ammunition, and fentanyl.
The investigation into Ortiz's activities began in January after troopers received information that he was illegally in possession of firearms, authorities said.

'Laverne & Shirley' Actor, New England Native Eddie Mekka Dies At Age 69
New England native Eddie Mekka, an actor known for playing Carmine Ragusa in the TV sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," has died at the age of 69.
Mekka's friend, Pat Benti, shared the news on Facebook, saying Mekka died peacefully in his California home on Saturday, Nov. 27.
